With ODTJ Autodrom Pomorze, AS-PL launched a campaign against phone use while driving and handed out phone holders to drivers.
On 1 April 2021, AS-PL and the ODTJ Autodrom Pomorze driver training centre launched the campaign “Be responsible! Keep your hands on the wheel”, highlighting the improper use of phones while driving.
Police data show that on average an accident occurs every quarter of an hour in Poland. Research for an insurer found that 67% of Polish drivers talk with the phone held to their ear, and 6% have had an accident or collision caused by smartphone use.
AS-PL bought special phone holders that mount on the air vent next to the steering wheel. Together with an information brochure, they are given to drivers training at the centre in Pszczółki.
