District Administrator Christian Meißner visited MOLL in Bad Staffelstein to learn about the company’s investment plans and R&D work.
Christian Meißner, District Administrator of Lichtenfels, visited MOLL Batterien’s plant in Bad Staffelstein on 9 March 2023. Management briefed him on planned investments, machinery upgrades for productivity and energy efficiency, and ongoing research and development.
Founded in 1945, MOLL has contributed key developments to the automotive industry, for example in batteries for start-stop systems. After insolvency in 2020, the company restarted with new investors in May 2021 and returned to profit the same year. Sales focus on the Volkswagen Group, the aftermarket and exports, and management expects modern starter batteries to be needed well beyond 2035.
