Rules for storing clean tyres away from heat, sunlight and moisture, and the tyre hotel service offered by workshops.
Tyres should be kept at least one metre from heaters and at roughly -30 °C to +35 °C. Sunlight reduces rubber elasticity, so they need protection from direct UV as well as rain and snow; dedicated tyre covers help.
Before storage, wash the tyres thoroughly and inspect them for cuts and bulges. For tyres on rims, leave the bags open to prevent corrosion.
For drivers without a garage, many workshops offer a “tyre hotel” service, usually priced by tyre size and storage period, often alongside tyre fitting and diagnostics.
