With a dedicated plug-in, MSG Equipment’s Loki scanner can pair one or more key fobs to a Tesla Model X in about five minutes.
The Tesla Model X supports three key types: an RFID key card, a Bluetooth phone key and a key fob shaped like a miniature of the car. Missing keys on used vehicles, lost fobs or the need for an extra key for a family member are common situations.
Owners of 2022 AMD-based Model X cars can pair a new key themselves, but earlier versions lack this option and Toolbox 3 does not support it. MSG Equipment’s Loki scanner, with its Key Fob Pairing for Model X plug-in, pairs keys on Tegra and Intel vehicles in about five minutes:
- Reading the existing key list from the car,
- Connecting the new key to the scanner and writing data to it,
