FAQ on the MS111 A/C compressor test bench

MSG Equipment explained how the MS111 works, reference pressures for compressor tests and how to prevent failures, in a question-and-answer format.

The main causes of A/C compressor failure are manufacturing defects, improper use, external influences and mechanical damage. MSG Equipment’s MS111 bench checks the performance of new and remanufactured compressors without fitting them to the car.

  • According to the manufacturer, low pressure should be 1.6–2.4 bar and high pressure 8–16 bar, with the evaporator temperature dropping to 5 °C or below.
  • After each run the oil should be drained and inspected; clean, clear oil without metal particles indicates a healthy compressor.
  • The bench uses refrigerant as the working medium, bringing test conditions close to those in the car, and can also run in repaired units.

The company notes that most compressor failures can be prevented by timely maintenance of the whole A/C system; technical support is also available remotely.
