MSG Equipment developed the MS112, which diagnoses electric AC compressors of EVs and hybrids fully automatically and compares performance with reference values.
In electric and hybrid cars the AC system manages not only cabin temperature but also that of the traction battery, so its condition needs closer monitoring. The electric compressor in these vehicles combines a compression unit, an AC motor and an inverter that powers the motor.
MSG Equipment’s new MS112 bench tests the compressor’s electrical components and evaluates its performance:
