Developed for the MS561, the MS-35670 universal cable lets many CAN-controlled racks, columns and pumps be diagnosed without a dedicated cable, with some limitations.
The MS561 controller relies on unit-specific cables to diagnose steering racks and EPS columns, which can limit the range of testable units. The MS-35670 universal cable was developed to solve this: it connects to many racks, columns and pumps controlled via CAN, using a main cable and combinable adapter wires.
The universal cable does not cover:
- FlexRay-controlled units and units with two CAN buses
- Racks with an external control unit, usually from Asian makers
- EHPS pumps with special signals, and testing under load
Because an incorrect connection can damage the unit, it should be used by experienced operators; otherwise dedicated cables or MSG training are recommended.
